[Historical + False Heir + Imperial Exams + Play the Pig to Eat the Tiger + Face-Slapping Power Fantasy]
Yang Yun, a modern office drone, works himself to death doing overtime and wakes up as the heir to a marquis’s estate, only to find himself being forced to whip his birth mother to death!
Faced with a choice between wealth and conscience, Yang Yun throws down the whip and roars, “I’m done being this heir!”
His old enemies take advantage of his misfortune, but he tears through the imperial-exam grind with his “humanities major buff.” Even when he’s so poor he has to chew on wild greens, he still finds time to verbally demolish spoiled young masters: “This young master’s comeback is here to put every smart mouth in its place!”
The capital’s most beautiful commandery princess offers him money, and his goofy rich-kid brother swears to stick by him to the death. Yang Yun grins: “Once I make the honors list, that marquis’s estate will be on its knees calling me Father!”
