Novel Synopsis
Lin Yuan is a poor young man in modern society. At the lowest point of his life, after losing his job, being kicked out by his landlord, and repeatedly failing to find work, he clutches the ancestral green jade pendant his mother left him before she died. While crossing the road on a stormy night, he is struck by a runaway dump truck. The moment his blood soaks into the pendant, a flash of green light appears, and he transmigrates to an era of famine in a place called Qinglan County. The land is cracked, corpses litter the fields, and the people survive by chewing tree bark. The seemingly ordinary pendant is actually the vessel for an ancient “Jade Vein System.” By absorbing the energy of jade, it can unlock amazing abilities, including storage space, spiritual farmland, and mineral prospecting.
Starting with the half a ration bar stored in the System space that he uses to save the village chief, Old Li, who is on the brink of death, Lin Yuan begins his rise to success. He carves out spiritual farmland on the barren back mountain and plants high-yield modern rice; uses the storage space’s preservation function to transport local goods and earn his first fortune on the county black market; and exposes the grain depot director’s corruption, leading the villagers in establishing a cooperative. As the System absorbs more top-grade jade and upgrades, Lin Yuan’s business empire expands from Qinglan County to all of Jiangning City, growing from grain and oil trading into jewelry, mining, and ocean shipping.
