Iron Bones and an Embroidered Spring Sabre: Commanding the Imperial Guards in the Ming Dynasty

When Shen Lian transmigrated, the original owner was on the verge of submitting a memorial impeaching Yan Song. He hit the brakes just in time and instead presented Ten Proposals on the Accumulated Abuses and Reform of the Northern Garrison Command. On the surface, it discussed reforms within the Embroidered Uniform Guard, but hidden in its pages was a data-driven analysis of the Yan faction’s financial problems. It caught the attention of the Jiajing Emperor and Lu Bing. Shen Lian was exceptionally promoted to Commissioner of the Northern Garrison Command and granted authority to run a pilot reform.
