Looking for something similar to "Where the Smoke of War Ends" ("Beacon Fires and Runaway Soldiers"). It's one of the best novels about the War of Resistance Against Japan I've ever read. The writing is excellent and feels very authentic, with lots of vivid detail. I read part of it before, then lost track of it. After searching for years, I finally found it again recently.
