In Jiangnan, two peonies bloom from the same root. One is destined for a prince, while the other remains hidden in Nandu.
The trouble all begins when the prince chooses another noblewoman, and the Ye family daughter heads to the capital to break off their engagement.
But fate has other plans.
In the end, one of them chooses a life of hardship and wandering to repay an old debt owed by her ancestors;
the other plots at every turn to avenge her beloved, willing to put herself in the thick of the danger.
Where will fate take these two flowers, born of the same root?
(No golden finger, no transmigrate, no reborn, fictional ancient setting.)
