Dreams in Strings

The Sound of Strings Telling Dreams follows pipa storytellers Shen Nianqiu and Lin Yaqin from the Republican era into the 21st century. Against the tides of history, from wartime upheaval to the Cultural Revolution, they remain true to their original aspirations, elevating pipa storytelling from a means of earning a living into a spiritual weapon for awakening the people. Three generations weave a cultural tapestry through the sound of strings, portraying the resilience and vitality of traditional art as it passes through an age of upheaval.
