Reborn in the 1980s: I’m Taking Back My Life

After being reborn in the early 1980s, the first thing I did was track down the postman who had delivered my admission notice years ago and bribe a few village kids.

In my previous life, after I failed the audition at the state-run theater, my childhood sweetheart, Su Wentao, persuaded me to go to the countryside with him as an educated youth.

I spent my days in the countryside reclaiming wasteland, feeding chickens and herding sheep, and repairing the dilapidated schoolhouse. After struggling through several years, I finally got the chance to return to the city, only for Su Wentao to trick me into marrying a violent older man.

He raved, “Mengmei has already taken your place at the state-run theater. You can forget about getting in.”

Only then did I realize he'd tricked me into going to the countryside so Su Mengmei could take my place at the theater.

Furious, I prepared to expose them, but Su Wentao and Yu Mengmei joined forces to torture me to death.

When I opened my eyes again, I had returned to the day the state-run theater had just finished holding auditions.
