To save money, I rented a strange apartment where someone had been murdered. I never expected that on the very day I moved in, I’d become the first person to discover the neighbor’s murder!
The police won’t let me leave. I have to deal not only with suspicious neighbors and the supposedly haunted apartment, but also with the terrifying realization that there seems to be more than one “me” living inside my body! A violent “Gatekeeper,” a sorrowful “Shadow,” and something else… a malevolent presence whispering that it plans to take my place!
To reclaim my body, I start a frenzied game of “personality hunting.” But as every step grows more perilous, I discover that the murder house, these “personalities,” and even my own identity as “Jiang Chen” all point to a cruel experiment at an abandoned psychiatric hospital more than twenty years ago… Who am I, really? And who is the one killing people inside my body?!
This book is pretty good, a bit brain-burning, but also a bit brainless. It makes people feel a little divisive. The author has a really rich imagination. After reading this, everything revolves around the male protagonist, and I feel more immersed.
The recovery record of a mentally ill patient is described in great detail, and the plot advances too slowly.
