**Story background**:
During the Zhenyuan period of the Tang Dynasty, there was a peach forest in full bloom in the south of Chang'an City. Cui Hu, the son of an upright official, was a man of literary talent, but he wandered around in despair after his defeat in the spring. He accidentally walked deep into the peach forest and met a girl who lived alone in Chaimen - Pei Yunrong. She was originally the daughter of an official who was demoted. Her family was in a low position, but she had outstanding talents. The two made friends through poetry and developed a secret love.
**First knock on the door (first encounter)**:
Cui Hu was thirsty and asked for water. Pei Yunrong greeted him leaning on a peach. The two recited poems in pairs and fell in love at first sight. Cui Hu gave him a farewell poem, and Yun Rong gave him a fan in return, promising to meet again next year when the peach blossoms bloom again.
**Second knock (missed)**:
In the spring of the following year, Cui Hu visited the flowers in high school and happily went to the appointment, only to find that the chai door was closed tightly and only the ground was full of fallen flowers. He sadly wrote a poem on the door: "On this day last year, in this door, the faces of people and peach blossoms reflected each other's red color. I don't know where the faces are, but the peach blossoms still smile in the spring breeze."
**The third knock on the door (reunion)**:
Cui Hu asked around and learned that the Pei family was involved in an old case and Yun Rong was seriously ill and dying. He knocked on the wood door three times in the rain and finally saw it. Yun Rong heard his call and miraculously woke up. Cui Hu went to court to vindicate the Pei family. In the end, they were named on the gold medal list, decorated with flowers and candles in the bridal chamber, and the two finally got married.
