(Complete, but terribly written. I’m slowly revising it. The ending has Li Wu reunited with his family across three generations.)
A story written on a whim, just to give the people I can’t stop worrying about in my heart a happy ending. As for the characters’ personalities: Tan Lang, Po Jun, Zi Wei, Qi Sha, and Tian Tong. In Season Six, their characterizations should make Zhi Wu a mix of Po Jun and Zi Wei: innocent, cheerful, and kind to others (Zi Wei), while also putting the greater good first (Po Jun). Li Cunli is a mix of Qi Sha and Po Jun, embodying cruelty and bloodshed (Qi Sha) as well as devotion to his country and people (Po Jun). Their characterizations change somewhat in Season Seven. Zhi Wu is rewritten as pure slaughter, obsession, and greed, making him a mix of Qi Sha and Tan Lang, with almost none of Zi Wei’s traits left. In Season Seven, Li Cunli reads the situation and acts accordingly. His Qi Sha traits are toned down somewhat, and he takes on a few more Zi Wei traits. Here, I want to give them both a happy ending in the traditional sense, so I’ve stubbornly written their personalities to lean toward Zi Wei, Tian Tong, and Po Jun. It may seem like they’re completely out of character throughout, but really, it’s all just my own selfish wish. After all, I feel that without doing this, it would be hard to give them both a happy ending… Thank you all for being patient enough to read this~ The cover art is from @Luo Di Sheng Geng.
This is my first time writing a story, and my style is too stiff. I started this project too early, and some of the details were added after I watched the show. I’m grateful to everyone who’s managed to keep reading…
Recently, I’ve been cramming in a lot of history about the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms. I’ll do my best to see the story through to the end, taking it as far as Li Cunli’s return to the Central Plains, where he’ll put himself in the middle of the conflict and join forces with Chai Rong and Guo Wei to do everything he can to turn the tide and reclaim the lost Sixteen Prefectures of Yan and Yun for the Central Plains… Though it may be futile, a hero does what must be done even when he knows it cannot be done… Why worry about how posterity will judge you when you’ve done your duty in life?
I’ve been really busy lately. Once things calm down, I’ll properly revise the earlier chapters. I was too casual when I wrote them before.
The Yanyun chapter is a big drama. Thanks to the author. I am in urgent need of anything that can make up for the trauma caused by dodging.
Beautiful, so beautiful
