Lin Xiao, a young boy from a border town, works as an apprentice in a sword-making shop. He accidentally discovers a mysterious sword pattern hidden in an ancestral iron sword. He is chased by a mysterious man on a rainy night. When he is about to die, the sword pattern awakens, and the opening lines of "The Sky Sword Codex" appear in his mind.
