On the surface, Lingxi Pavilion, an antique shop in Lingyuan City, deals in curios. In truth, it specializes in solving supernatural cases. The unscrupulous owner, Boss Mu, leads five uniquely skilled companions: Ling Qiqi, a tough big sister reincarnated from a battle spirit; Jia Li, a gifted doctor with yin-yang eyes; Xiao Yu, a martial monk who left the Buddhist order; Chen Junbao, heir to Maoshan thunder arts; and Qin Wen, a magical artifact engineer. Together, they confront demons and evil spirits lurking in the city. The team also keeps a tabby cat named Zhaocai that feeds on malice. As it devours monsters, it continues to evolve, and will eventually awaken as the ancient White Tiger.
Each volume features a standalone supernatural case: an influencer encounters a vengeful water ghost during a livestream, corpses in a hospital morgue start doing broadcast exercises, a bronze sacred tree walks, and a haunted house floor plan keeps multiplying on its own... Yet hidden behind the cases is a shocking conspiracy to resurrect Chi You. The official organization Night Patrol Division and the villainous Faceless Gate make their entrances in turn, while the six protagonists' origins and the millennia-old feud among the Four Symbols Sacred Beasts gradually come to light.
