In 2004, Xie Dongnan, a young man from rural Xinyang, Henan Province, went to Dongguan to carry bricks and mix cement at the construction site, doing the hardest low-level work. A few years later, he returned to his hometown to start a breeding business with a small amount of savings, and met technician Yu Xiaoya. The two worked together to develop ecological breeding, finding a way out amidst setbacks and hopes. However, due to lack of experience, they suffered losses and debts, and were forced to go south again. He worked in a clothing factory, an electronics factory, a hardware factory, and even entered a pyramid scheme by mistake, experiencing the harshness of the world. In the ups and downs of his working life, he always struggled to survive and find a way out in life. The story shows the tenacity and confusion of a generation of migrant workers.

A wonderful life is worth holding on to. Although it is short, it is written with ups and downs. I also want to return to my hometown, but I don't have the courage. Many traditional things in my hometown are slowly disappearing🙁
It feels very real. I am also from Henan, born in 2001
