Synopsis

A childhood crush that blossoms into a slow-burning, heartbreaking love.

For a long time, I thought that in the glow of youth, I had let myself down in countless ways, but had never owed him a thing.

I never imagined that the delicate boy with the exquisitely handsome features had spent his entire youth loving me.

Each of us loved the other in the way we thought was right, yet we never asked whether that was the kind of love the other wanted.

Perhaps the saddest thing about love is that its ending is already written before it even begins.

By then, love had grown as rare as the stars at dawn, and was impossible to put into words.

You are an affliction I will never find a cure for, beginning with love at first sight and ending with my bones ground to dust.

An original novel by Zimo, begun in March 2017.

Zimo, Zimo Xuejie, and Zimo xj are all pen names used by the author.
