Luan Yu is a rare silver nine-tailed fox from Luanshan Isle. Why is she so rare? Because when Luan Yu was born, the Immortal Realm joined forces to deliver a devastating blow to Luanshan Isle. Her mother was caught in the fighting and died in childbirth, while Luan Yu was left with only two of her three souls and four of her seven spirits. As a result, she is intellectually impaired and has yet to awaken to romantic feelings.
A hundred years later, Luan Yu sets out for the human world to find the one soul and three spirits she's missing. There she meets Duan Buchen, an inner disciple of Daoist Ancestor Lingxu of Wushan, and the two embark on a playful, bickering adventure. Duan Buchen never expected that he, a man born without feelings, would fall for a fox demon.
The heroine is a little silly at first but grows stronger later. The hero falls in love with her at first sight and protects her throughout. (Includes short, self-contained stories.)
The leads' everyday life:
“Daoist, your outer robe is dirty.”
“It's fine.” He casts a cleaning spell.
“Daoist, do you like this hairpin?”
“Mm.”
“Daoist...”
“Anything is fine.”
“Daoist, I just wanted to say that scholar is really handsome.”
“...A Yu, am I not handsome?” He looks utterly aggrieved.
