Lu Xinglan is a top-tier star in Chinese entertainment, with a face kissed by angels but a “box-office poison” reputation: every film he stars in flops.
Jiang Youran, meanwhile, is just an obscure computer science student who is desperately short on cash.
During her sophomore-year summer break, Jiang Youran returns to her hometown and accidentally catches the top-tier star in the middle of a major scandal at her family’s old home: Lu Xinglan is embracing a popular actress beneath the moonlight!
The next moment, Lu Xinglan follows the sound of her camera shutter and corners her against a wall. His face cold, he says, “Name your price. I’ll pay whatever it takes. Delete the photos.”
Jiang Youran stares blankly at his impossibly handsome face, and a daring idea pops into her head.
Jiang Youran: “I don’t want money.”
Lu Xinglan frowns. “Then what do you want?”
Jiang Youran looks him straight in the eye. “I want you to… take me for a drive.”
Just like that romantic scene in the masterpiece that launched his career, the one that made her fall for him at first sight.
