Lu Jiuyu, an undertaker at a funeral home, accidentally awakens the dormant Fate of Yama within himself while dissecting an unidentified corpse. A black blade-shaped mark appears on his palm, making him a target for the Heaven Patrol, the sworn enemy of the Heavenly Dao. To break the cycle of the "Heavenly Punishment, World-Ending Calamity," which returns every three hundred years, he is forced onto a path of defying Heaven and gathering the nine fragments of Yama's blade.
From a lowly fighter who controls bones and corpses to the Ninth Yama, master of the power of Hell, Lu Jiuyu discovers that the so-called Heavenly Dao is nothing but an evil spirit stealing the divine nature of all living beings. On the day the Nine Hells blade is unsheathed, he will use the bones of countless souls as his steps and cut down every false god!
