**Story Synopsis**
Is the fire rising from the ashes a flame of salvation, or an ambition to slay the gods?
**He is a “monster” scraping by in the mud.**
Qu Yan was scorned from birth: lame, blind in one eye, and born with rare red hair and red eyes. Even the stray dogs in the slums dared to bare their teeth at him. Then, after a brush with death, an ancient Wind Dragon egg was implanted inside him. His right arm became a savage claw, and the Everlasting Flame began to course through his veins. Some say he is the prophesied “Chosen One,” the only person able to wield the power of gods and demons. But when he looks up, he has no idea what fate has in store for him.
**She is a “tyrant” who shatters divine prophecy.**
When Jiang Jue was twelve, the Black Tortoise bowed its head before her, and even the Qilin prostrated itself. But no one expected her to smash the idols worshiped for a thousand years with her own hands. Those beings who claimed to stand above all others were nothing but parasites feeding on faith. Years later, clad in imperial yellow, she points her sword at the heavens: “If the gods demand that people live on their knees, then I will slay the gods!”
**Two chosen by fate: who will have the last laugh?**
As Qu Yan sets out to save the world by destroying the evil dragon, Jiang Jue's god-slaying sword has already taken the Black Tortoise's head. While Qu Yan teaches humans and magical beasts to coexist amid the ruins, Jiang Jue's iron cavalry tramples the last temple. The Everlasting Flame burning in his palm lights up the eternal night; the divine blood dripping from her sword paints the dawn red.
