Su Jinse, daughter of the Imperial Physician, loses her family and is reduced to a criminal slave, only to be unexpectedly chosen by the cold-blooded Prince Xiao Zhuo. Hiding a bloodstained piece of jade, she struggles to survive amid the dangers of the prince's manor, but gradually discovers that her father's death is tied to a far greater conspiracy: a plague in the northern frontier's prisoner-of-war camp, a bloody curse on the imperial family, forbidden witchcraft in the Medicine King Valley... When the golden phoenix seal over Xiao Zhuo's heart resonates with the crescent-shaped scar on her neck, two souls wounded by fate are forced to choose between the realm and love and hate.
