A Guide to Parasite Types
Parasite strains: Low-level parasites. Most parasites encountered in the early stages belong to this type.
Assimilated strains: Creatures directly infected by parasites. Some are created by summoning pillars.
Primordial strains: Formed by mobile masses of flesh or naturally generated at Infection Level 3. These are large parasitic beasts that can evolve into adaptive strains.
Adaptive strains: Evolved from primordial strains. They can release ORT, are enormous, and have strong defenses.
Superior strains: Naturally generated in the late stages or produced by summoning pillars. They are powerful, extremely well-defended, and highly resistant to damage.
Crude strains: Mostly failed conversions of parasitic hosts or mobile masses of flesh formed through the evolution of assimilated strains.
Progenitor strains: The final boss. They have high defense, high attack, and great speed, and emerge when Level 3 or Level 4 summoning pillars are destroyed.
Frenzied strains: Created when frenzied mosquitoes bite creatures. They are an upgraded version of assimilated strains.
Pure strains: Produced directly by parasites. They are slightly stronger than adaptive strains.
Connected strains: Primarily mother organisms such as summoning pillars.
