“Spirit Hall called me a worthless nobody, but the stars… chose me.”
At the age of twelve, Ling Xinghe is judged to have a “Trash Martial Soul” during the Martial Soul Awakening ceremony: a dull, lusterless gray chain, with Innate Soul Power of only rank three. Everyone mocks him, and even the lowest-ranking Soul Master Academy refuses to take him in.
But when night falls and the light of the Big Dipper shines down, his chain Martial Soul devours starlight and transforms into a dazzling Star Chain! His Soul Power surges to rank ten overnight, and his adoptive father, Steward Ling, reveals a shocking secret:
“Your Martial Soul comes from a fallen Star God.”
To escape Spirit Hall’s pursuit, Ling Xinghe is forced to attend the dilapidated Tianxing Academy. There, he meets the hot-tempered Ye Huowu, whose Martial Soul is the Blazing Sparrow, and the honest, dependable Xuan Mo, whose Martial Soul is the Black Tortoise. The three gradually discover that their Martial Souls all carry the legacy of ancient deities!
But danger follows close behind:
Spirit Hall’s dark tendrils have reached the academy, determined to wipe out the “Star God’s successor”;
The dormant Second Martial Soul within Ling Xinghe, the Eye of Chaos, begins to awaken, whispering with a power that can beguile the mind;
A revenge plan by Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beasts pushes the war between humanity and soul beasts toward the abyss…
As the stars intertwine with chaos, can this young man shatter Spirit Hall’s definition of “strength” and restore the glory of the divine throne?
