How Could I Not Get Drunk in the Spring Breeze?

Short version: The love and hate between two sickly people.

Full version: One spring day, an imperial decree of marriage tears apart the capital's false peace. Luo Chunfeng, the sickly young lady of the Minister of Revenue's residence, is betrothed to He Yizui, a hostage prince from Northern Qi. One is a discarded pawn who coughs blood until he loses his composure before the emperor; the other is a refined young lady who drinks medicine until she's covered in toxic sores. The entire city bets that this pair of "doomed lovebirds" won't survive their wedding night.

On their wedding night, blade and hairpin clash in a deadly struggle.

"If you want this bridal chamber to become a funeral hall, Prince He, feel free to come one inch closer." The poisoned hairpin's tip presses against his heart. "You're worrying too much, Madam. I have no interest in a poisonous woman from the Southern Border." He presses his blade against the blood vessels in her neck.
