Afternoons in Yucun are always a bit lazy. Wu Xie squatted in the yard, with several pieces of metal fragments glowing green spread out in front of him. This is the only physical evidence Zhang Qiling brought back from the Bronze Gate. He has tried various methods for a year, but has never been able to analyze their composition.
"Tianzhen, it's time to eat!" Fatty Wang shouted at the kitchen door, the spatula in his hand still dripping with oil.
Wu Xie responded and carefully put the fragments into the velvet box. When he turned around, he caught a glimpse of Zhang Qiling leaning on the door frame and looking at him, his black eyes showing a rare amber color in the sunlight.
"Brother, when did you wake up?" Wu Xie walked over with a smile. Ever since he took Zhang Qiling home, this guy had slept for an astonishingly long time, as if he was trying to make up for all the sleep he had missed in the past few decades.
Zhang Qiling didn't answer, but just reached out and brushed away a petal that had fallen on Wu Xie's shoulder at some point. This natural and intimate action made Wu Xie's ears warm.
