I really want a story with a grand perspective, character growth, and passion, like the kind you often get in mech novels. Every sect should have its own appeal, and instead of always having people trip up the protagonist over romance, I want antagonists whose opposition comes from their differing convictions.

Recommend Ensemble Stories Where the Main Characters Act as a Team

I hope every member of the protagonist group is portrayed well. Fantasy or post-apocalyptic settings are both fine. As long as the characters are not made stupid, I can accept it. I would prefer witty writing. Saintly characters are fine if they are merciful and generous toward allies but ruthless and decisive toward enemies. I do not like indiscriminate killing.
