A call to the police for a civil dispute on a rainy night plunged trainee police officer Qi Yiming into a supernatural nightmare.
The brawler in the KTV box remained motionless for three hours in the surveillance video; the drunken woman brought back by the mediation had a strange "Midnight Business Rules" appearing under her skin; and the case file that should have been destroyed returned to his desk intact the next morning.
"Welcome to Bureau 109." The man in Mao suit showed his ID to him, "From today on, you will be responsible for handling cases that 'should not exist'."
Here, the rules are the rules of survival - the elevator cannot stop on the 13th floor, otherwise it will reach the non-existent "mirror branch";
A red flashlight must be carried during midnight patrols, but the lighting must never be turned on;
All archival records must be written with a pen because the ink absorbs lies…
Qi Yiming soon discovered that behind every case he handled, there was a deeper terror. And when he opened the "Contained Object File" written in blood, his police number was clearly written on the last page, as well as a line of small words:
"Cognitive polluter, Qi Yiming, estimated containment expiration date: December 12, 2045" (data blacked out)
