The Female General Qin Liangyu
PS: Set in a fictional world.
Qin Liangyu inherits her father's business and becomes the first woman merchant in Qizhou, and indeed in all of Daxia.
Before she has even reached adulthood, her goods are being sold at court, making her a celebrated woman in the capital.
She thinks that becoming an imperial merchant will let the Qin family's medicine business prosper even more, and that people will treat her with greater respect.
But reality proves her wrong.
As long as you are a woman,
whether you are a princess with talent and ambition,
or a gifted performer who disguises herself as a man,
you are not allowed to compete with others,
because the system forbids it, the rules of propriety deny it, and treacherous villains will leap in your way.
Qin Liangyu refuses to accept this.
What of the shackles of convention? What of the belief that men are superior to women?
She will break free of those chains and smash these cruel rules.
They say women are weak and easy to bully, unable to fight even a chicken?
Then she will pile up enemy heads to claim her victories.
They say women are foolish and ignorant, and that a woman's judgment is worthless?
Then she will use her many military triumphs to awe the world.
If this world offers women no way forward,
then she will carve one out for women everywhere.
