My Military Journey is a military memoir based on true experiences. In simple yet heartfelt prose, it chronicles the author's military career and deep bonds with fellow soldiers across half a century. From a raw recruit to a grassroots officer, from the deserts of the northwest to the borderlands of the southwest, the author takes readers into those passionate years through the eyes of someone who lived them, letting them feel the courage and conviction of a generation of soldiers.

Comrades-in-arms form the central thread of the work, connecting personal accounts with historical turning points such as the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Vietnam, the upheavals of the Cultural Revolution, and the Reform and Opening Up. It portrays both life-and-death trials amid the smoke of battle and the perseverance and growth of ordinary days. With prose that is clear-eyed yet warm, the author reveals the hardship behind a soldier's honor and uses vivid details to illustrate the ultimate meaning of comradeship: brothers who trust one another with their lives in times of danger, sources of support in hardship who need no words, and family who can reunite after half a lifetime and still embrace with tears in their eyes.
