Lin Shen, a modern five-star hotel chef, accidentally traveled to the Tang Dynasty and became the apprentice of a small restaurant owner in the suburbs. Faced with a simple kitchen and limited ingredients, he relied on modern cooking skills to launch an improved version of dumplings, which became famous in the suburbs, but his boss was jealous. After leaving the restaurant and heading to Chang'an, Lin Shen encountered obstacles everywhere until he cooperated with an old man selling Hu cakes to improve Hu cakes. Later, he entered Taibai Tower and conquered the boss with his squirrel and mandarin fish. He continued to innovate dishes and became famous as far as the palace. When preparing a dinner for the emperor, he served delicacies such as hibiscus chicken slices, and was awarded the title of Chief Kitchen Officer, writing his own food legend in the Tang Dynasty.
