A lonely soul from another world, a nine-aperture exquisite heart, and a forbidden salvation that crosses the boundaries between species.
Su Yuyan, a soldier in the apocalypse, sacrificed herself to save her teammates. When she opened her eyes again, she had become a newborn pink fox. In this otherworld where humans, demons, and immortals coexist, she was raised as Su Xiaorou by a fox-demon couple, only to be abducted by the mysterious Daoist Xuan Xiao at the age of sixteen.
“The nine-aperture exquisite heart can help me break through the final stage of the Art of Supreme Detachment.”
When Xuan Xiao's sword point pressed against her throat, Su Xiaorou never imagined that her greatest secrets, her identity as someone who had transmigrated and her unusual constitution, would be the reason the Daoist pursued her relentlessly. Nor did she expect that the cold Daoist who kept saying he wanted to take her heart would shield her from a fatal blow beneath the moonlight.
“Why did you save me? Don't you want my heart?”
“Quiet... Let me treat your wounds.”
When Xuan Xiao's fingers trembled as he stopped her bleeding, Su Xiaorou realized that this seemingly heartless Daoist was covered in old wounds. They were the price he paid for defying his sect's rules. It turned out he had tracked her for sixteen years, yet had never truly harmed a single fox demon.
“If I'm destined to die, at least let me know the truth.”
As the immortal world's conspiracy gradually came to light, Su Xiaorou discovered that her transmigration had not been a coincidence. Her nine-aperture exquisite heart was the key to opening the gates between the two worlds, and behind Xuan Xiao's mission to take her heart lay an obsession far deeper than his sect's orders...
As the balance of the three realms is shattered, as true feelings and the Dao...
