Oath of the Dark Night: I Guard the Light with Shadows

“With my shadow, I shield your light. This is the oath etched into the bones of every Night Watcher.”

Yu Cheng, an ordinary college student, is attacked by a Heart-Eater demon on a rainy night. To protect his loved ones, he awakens the forbidden power to control shadows. When he discovers that his mother was once part of a mysterious organization called the Night Watchers, he also learns that the cursed bloodline known as the “Shadow Sovereign” runs through his veins. By then, his fate has already been rewritten.

“Rookie, remember this...” The coolly beautiful captain Bai Yue tossed him a bloodstained Tang sword. “The more shadows devour, the faster you lose your humanity.”

But when a Level Four shadow beast tears the city apart, and his loved ones and comrades fall before his eyes, Yu Cheng still chooses to let the darkness consume him completely. As enormous shadow wings spread across the sky, he sees the truth: what they call a curse is merely the cruelest gift the gods have given mortals.

In a world where shadow beasts feed on fear, the most dangerous monsters often wear human skin. True light is born in the deepest darkness.
