The Last Snow of the Winter Solstice

[Romance | powerful families | bittersweet | older man | entertainment industry]

[Fate has been cruel. Look, his love is what lifts her up.]

The winter in this city still couldn’t keep them from falling in love, then breaking up.

Wen Ling said nothing. Qin Tan was right not to make promises, because he couldn’t keep them, and would only feel guilty afterward.

“You ruined my birthday again.”

Once, he had whispered softly in her ear:

“I’ll never ruin your birthday, not in this lifetime.”

Qin Tan looked away first. It was true: without even realizing it, he had made her so many promises.

“Wen Ling, I’ll make it up to you.”

He paused, his eyes still red:

“But that’s all.”

At last, she couldn’t hold back. Tears as big as beans fell, though she still managed to force a smile.

That’s right. I’ll pay you back. I’ll turn the time we spent together into money, and from now on, I won’t be the one by your side.

“From now on, we’ll go our separate ways, like birds flying in opposite directions.”
