Kongming's Soul Enters Tang Monk: You Asked Me to Fetch the Scriptures, So I Attack the Western Heaven

I hear the journey to the Western Paradise takes eighty-one trials?

The gods and Buddhas of the heavens expected to watch a mortal monk suffer. But the one who left Chang'an was Zhuge Kongming, feather fan in hand.

Entrusted by Jin Chanzi, the chancellor, whose soul had entered the body of Tang Sanzang, decisively refused the lean horse offered by the Tang king and presented him with a strategy titled "Plan for Pacifying the West":

"The Tang Empire is now secure, and our arms are strong enough. We should reward and lead our cavalry west to conquer Spirit Mountain!"

From then on, Master Xuanzang carried a repeating crossbow and led a mighty force of battle-hardened cavalry through the pass.

He recruited the Great Sage Equal to Heaven as his vanguard and called on the Celestial River Navy to secure their rear.

They cut roads through mountains and formed ranks across rivers, forged weapons from demon bones, and trapped demon kings with the Eight Trigrams Formation.

Their journey was perilous, and demons wanted to devour humans.

Xuanzang pleaded in his sea of consciousness: "Sir, Buddhists are supposed to be compassionate. Why not take a detour and make a friend?"

Kongming smiled faintly. "Master, sit tight. I have a plan."

Half an hour later, heavenly lightning scorched the earth, and a storm of arrows pierced the sky.

Holding a bloodstained nine-ringed monk's staff, Kongming looked down at the demon king, beaten to pieces beneath his feet. His voice was as gentle as jade:

"Buddha saves the good. The Dharma slays evil spirits."

"Disciples, break camp and follow your master on the northern expedition!"

Xuanzang's soul trembled. "Sir, monks must not lie, and they certainly shouldn't deal critical hits!"

Kongming waved his fan and gazed toward Spirit Mountain. "Master, you're attached to appearances. Wipe out every demon along this road, and the true scriptures will reveal themselves."

The unfinished campaign at Qishan long ago can be fought anew in the Western Paradise today!
