Crossing the Line [Crime Investigation]

[Dual male leads × two powerful protagonists × criminal investigation × mystery × linked episodic cases]

A bizarre murder takes place at a museum in western Jing City. Gu He, the museum’s deputy director, is found dead in the exhibition hall under strange circumstances, and a piece of ancient five-sided jade has vanished.

Wen Qin’an, captain of the Second Criminal Investigation Brigade at the West District Public Security Bureau and the youngest criminal investigation captain in Jing City’s history, is ordered to investigate. He is forced to partner with Yan Yiwen, a taciturn professor of archaeology at Jing University and an expert in cultural relic restoration.

The vanished five-sided jade, a bloodstained bronze coin, the eerie night shrine in Meng Mountain... A series of cases first seem to be grisly crimes born of thieves turning on one another in the antiquities black market. But the truth is, they have long been entangled with the feuds of the Wen and Yan families.

Is it human nature pulling the strings, or fate making its choice?

Or are human nature and fate conspiring together?
