Belden is a menial mage whose talent rating is only Tier 1, yet he is discovered to possess a monstrous gift for theoretical deduction.

Tower Master: “Get him! It would be an outrage not to put that brain to work for my Mage Tower!” He’s destined to be our workhorse!

The Mage Tower's higher-ups crowd around him: “Tower Master, I have a few projects that need Belden's genius brain to figure out.”

Belden: “Wait a second! You don’t even plan to train me, and now you want to use me until I’m drained? I’m getting out of here. Just watch me take everything you’ve got on my way out!”

And so Belden makes a successful escape, traveling the world and stirring up trouble wherever he goes.

Whether facing the forces of light or dark organizations, he leaves them with the same warning:

“Don’t mess with me. When I get mad, I steal your whole home.”

Years later, someone asks Belden how he got so strong.

Belden: “You want to know how I got stronger? Isn’t having a brain all it takes?!”
