In the mid-1990s, Chen Feng, born in a remote village, moved to the city to work as a migrant laborer after graduating from junior high because his family was poor. The construction site was harsh and the work grueling, but he never complained. With hard work and a thirst for knowledge, he developed solid construction skills under Uncle Zhang’s guidance.
During the Spring Festival at the end of the 1990s, Chen Feng returned home and reunited with Su Xiao, who was studying architectural design. The industry knowledge she shared inspired him to improve himself. From then on, he studied architecture in his spare time. In the early 21st century, he solved design and construction problems on a major company project, earning recognition and a promotion to construction crew leader.
As his understanding of the industry deepened, Chen Feng saw the potential for diversification in construction. At an industry seminar, he met President Wang, who advised him to study finance and marketing. This strengthened his resolve to change direction. In 2010, Chen Feng quit his job and started a business. When he ran short of funds, Su Xiao gave him her full support, helping him successfully secure a plot in a new urban district. The construction faced one setback after another, but with Su Xiao by his side, encouraging him, the project finally got on track.
In 2012, changes in policy and the market stalled sales and tightened the company’s cash flow. Chen Feng and Su Xiao worked together to overcome the crisis, and their feelings grew stronger until they became a couple. The project was completed in 2014, but sales remained poor. Lin Yao, a highly capable sales manager, joined the team. She reorganized it and revamped the marketing, turning sales around. Lin Yao also fell for Chen Feng, but after he turned her down, she devoted herself to her work.
Once he had established himself, Chen Feng keenly spotted the trend toward technological change in the construction industry. He invested in research on 3D printing, shortening construction times and reducing costs. He also introduced a BIM system, creating a legend of trillion-yuan wealth!
