Seeking the Dao Beneath the Azure Sky: The Heart-Cleansing Tribulation

When heaven and earth first took shape, spiritual energy surged and countless races rose across the world. The Qilin bore the mission of protecting all life. In the Western Regions, it suppressed the Demon Venerable, and centuries passed in the blink of an eye. Trapped beneath a seal, the Demon Venerable refused to give up. He plotted in secret and devised a treacherous scheme. Using the Fire Spirit Pearl, which contained the power to destroy heaven and earth, as bait, he struck a deal with the Netherworld King of the Western Regions. He transformed the king into a blood-drinking Rakshasa, turning the entire Rakshasa clan into his minions and bloodthirsty demons. Driven by the Demon Venerable, the Rakshasa clan poured out in full force and launched a frenzied assault on the Qilin guarding the seal. The Qilin fell into the Demon Venerable's deadly poison trap. When the poison took hold, it surged like a raging tide, swiftly devouring his life force. The Qilin fell, consumed by regret. Among the Rakshasa was a man named Xu Yun. Though born into this darkness-shrouded clan, he still held on to a shred of clarity and kindness. From childhood, Xu Yun had heard tales of the great Qilin deity protecting the world, and he revered and was grateful to the Qilin clan. Seeing his people manipulated by the Demon Venerable and turned into accomplices in the slaughter of the innocent filled him with anguish. When he learned that his clansmen meant to target a young Qilin, he finally made up his mind. He secretly stole away the Fire Qilin cub and set off on a flight into distant lands, determined to keep it safe. From then on, the Rakshasa clan ruled the Western Regions, turning the other tribes into puppets of evil. Xu Yun struggled onward with the Qilin cub in his arms, fleeing desperately, with no idea what lay ahead.
