The Brooding Guy and the Puppy Both Beg Me to Take Them In

Shen Nian transmigrated into an old-school novel as a minor character she couldn’t even remember. She met the fictional characters she’d loved as a teenager and got involved with them, and couldn’t help wanting to change the story: let the male and female leads get their happy ending, and spare the second male lead the destruction of his family. Just as Shen Nian thought things were going smoothly and was even about to start a romance with the second male lead, her childhood friend, Jiang Ting, “fell ill.” Shen Nian tried to ignore his sinister stare and pretend they were nothing more than childhood friends, until he sneaked into her room one night and kissed her. Shen Nian: I can’t keep pretending. Jiang Ting: I did it on purpose so you couldn’t keep pretending. Shen Nian: I won’t be with you. Forget it. Jiang Ting: I said the same thing to you once. You told me you’d love me forever. Are you still angry with me? I was wrong to reject you. Shen Nian: Why are you using the original owner’s words to torment me? You rejected her before, and now that your childhood friend’s little sister has a different person inside her, you’ve thrown your principles out the window and want to be with her? Too late! When Shen Nian scolded him, he was happy she was willing to talk to him. When Shen Nian slapped him, Jiang Ting said he loved it. When Shen Nian ignored him, Jiang Ting would sneak into her room every night and stare at her with that sinister look. Shen Nian tried to run, only to discover she was fated never to escape.
