Set in a fictional, chaotic era following the Ming dynasty’s Tumu Crisis, this story follows four protagonists as they are swept up in the clash between court and martial world, ideals and reality.
With the Ming dynasty’s Tumu Crisis as its central catalyst, the story unfolds through the intertwined fates of four protagonists:
- Lu Yun is drawn into the massacre of a family in Xiliang after becoming embroiled in an imperial examination fraud case. During his escape, he meets martial heroes and grasps the sword path of “Righteous Qi” at Whitewater Falls.
- Du Renguo investigates the “Tianshan Dragon Blood” murder case. Caught in a maelstrom of political intrigue, he awakens his true dragon bloodline and gradually becomes a defender of the establishment.
- After his origins are exposed, Li Jianghai is tortured by the imperial court. He climbs to the peak of Kunlun, regains his martial arts, and establishes the “Raging Tide Alliance” to oppose imperial rule.
- Yang Zhiyuan uses the Shaolin art “Six Paths of Reincarnation” to lay plans for twenty years, secretly controlling “Listening Rain Tower” as he builds an underground dynasty.
It has a bit of Jin Yong's traditional martial arts feel.
