At the end of the term, he hands in a blank exam paper. She receives a medical diagnosis and transfers schools in a hurry.

Eight years later, Gu Shiming has gone from a poor student to a major figure in the legal world.
With only six months left to live and desperate for money to cover her medical bills, Qiao Xiaoxing spends a night with Gu Shiming and makes him pay.
Gu Shiming becomes obsessed with her, scheming to get close during the day and spending the nights wrapped up with her.
When she learns that Gu Shiming is about to marry his first love, Lu Chenxi, she draws a clear line between them. He begs her to stay like a madman.
He tosses her suitcase aside and pins her against the wall, kissing her fiercely. “You seduce me and then run off every time?”
Qiao Xiaoxing mocks him. “Lawyer Gu, your first love, Lu Chenxi, is back.”
The cool-headed lawyer turns into a devoted puppy. “Xiaoxing, you've always been my first love. I was already in love with you before you confessed.”

At a design exhibition, Qiao Xiaoxing puts a pair of rings she designed herself up for auction. They sell for an astronomical price.
“Who would spend that much on them?”
“That was all my savings. Consider it the bride price. Marry me, Xiaoxing.”
The legal world's top lawyer, Gu Shiming, drops to one knee. The unreachable heartthrob turns into a lovesick puppy in an instant.
She thought she was the hunter.
Little did she know, the best hunters often appear as their prey.
