"The card you draw will determine whether you become the hunter or the prey."
In 2075, the "Gray Mist Incident" split Earth into two overlapping worlds: the surface world, where order collapsed, and the inner world, the "Mirror Realm," teeming with bizarre, indescribable creatures. A tiny fraction of humanity awakened to supernatural powers through "Sequence Cards," at the cost of gradually becoming inhuman.
The protagonist, Shen Yan, was an ordinary forensic doctor until a bizarre autopsy case dragged him into the Mirror Realm. Forced to inherit his late father's incomplete [Funeral Director] deck, he gained the ability to "dissect death": by touching a corpse, he can revisit its memories from the 72 hours before death, but each use consumes some of his own emotions. To uncover the truth behind his father's disappearance, he joins the official organization "Ashen Eye" and tackles high-risk incidents alongside teammates of very different temperaments: a rebellious hacker, a mysterious folklorist, and an AI android.
The Blood-Red Wedding: A bride turns into a flesh-and-blood puppet at her wedding banquet, and the guests one after another go on a rampage, transformed into cards;
The Time Prisoners: A town's residents are trapped in a 24-hour loop, and the only way out is to sacrifice a loved one;
The Abyssal Radio: A midnight broadcast plays the last words of the dead, and everyone who listens is pulled into the Mirror Realm...
As the investigation deepens, Shen Yan discovers that the "Gray Mist Incident" was a human experiment, and that he himself is a crucial "vessel." When his card sequence reaches its peak, he'll have to wager his last shred of sanity on whether to save the world or descend into madness.
