One Flirt from the Darling Lady, and the Cool-Hearted Monk Loses Control

[Over-the-top devotion + one-on-one romance + extra sweet + happy ending + mutual devotion + healing]

The world worships Buddha, but the Buddha's chosen son submits only to me

"Cool, abstinent Buddhist novice × bright, bold sweetheart"

"He knew neither love nor desire, yet for her he fell into the mortal world and overturned an empire"

Galan Temple is home to a famously handsome young monk known as the “Jade-Faced Buddha.” With a teardrop mole at the corner of his eye, he holds a green lamp and chants sutras, untouched by worldly affairs and indifferent to women.

Until one night at the Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival, Shen Zhaoxi, the Prime Minister's legitimate daughter, climbs over the wall into Galan Temple, loses her footing, and falls into his arms. His prayer beads snap.

She grins and tugs at his robe. “Little Master, your heart is beating so fast.”

He lowers his eyes and joins his palms. “...Female devotee, please show some restraint.”

But later

For her, he breaks the vow against killing, staining his monk's robes with blood.

For her, he enters the political arena and plots at every turn.

Even... at his coronation, before all the civil and military officials, he removes the imperial crown with his own hands, kneels on one knee, and offers it to her.

“Shen Zhaoxi.” His voice is hoarse. “Buddha saves all living beings, but you saved me.”

It turns out he was never some serene, desireless monk.

He was a former prince of the previous dynasty, living under an assumed name for twenty years, burdened with a blood feud and consumed by obsession and darkness.

And yet, she is his only weakness.
