In middle school, the girl was chubby, with her face covered in pimples. A chance encounter beneath a ginkgo tree, and a few words of encouragement, helped her regain her confidence. The boy casually handed her a yellowing ginkgo leaf, and it opened the door to her heart.
They meet again in high school. After being bullied, she transfers to a new school, only to find herself sitting next to him. She has become sensitive and withdrawn, and her once-plump body has grown gaunt. The boy does not remember her, but he still encourages her.
