With help from his healer allies Lin Qingzhu and Su Jiu'er, a master of mechanisms, he uses the Qiankun Instrument to balance the Three Realms. But the Dao Seed devours spiritual energy, bringing the Nine Wilds to the brink of collapse. The remnant soul of the Primordial Heavenly Venerable tempts him to sacrifice himself to mend the heavens. In the end, Fang Tianyou chooses to undergo tribulation and perish, detonating the Dao Seed so it can return to chaos. He merges with the Heavenly Dao, while the Five Elements Divine Tree becomes an ordinary stalk of rice in the mortal world.
Karmic causes and retribution are like a cocoon: break through, and you become a butterfly. The reborn Nine Wilds has no barriers between the Three Realms, only a single stalk of rice waiting for the next master of the Dao Seed. The Great Dao here relies not on force, but on sacrifice and nature.
