In the final years of the Eastern Han dynasty, warlords vie for supremacy, and the flames at Red Cliffs consume Cao Cao's ambition to unite the realm.
Cao Wei has suffered a fresh defeat, its army's morale is shaken, and the realm has settled into a three-way division.
Amid the chaos, one man will reshape the fate of the realm
Dong Yuan, courtesy name Yuanting, Daoist title Huaqiao, a native of Yangdi in Yingchuan, Yuzhou, and the ninth-generation direct descendant of the Western Han Confucian master Dong Zhongshu.
He enters the world at twenty, his brilliance enough to shake the heavens, and stands alongside Crouching Dragon and Young Phoenix as one of the realm's three greatest talents.
At the perilous Battle of Red Cliffs, he uses three brocade pouches to escape certain death and keep Cao Cao safe.
Now back in command as military adviser, he steadies Cao Cao's camp with a single word:
Hold northern Jingzhou, stabilize the Central Plains, and recover our strength while watching Sun and Liu tear each other apart.
Cao Ren holds a fortified city to the death, while Zhou Yu can make no headway.
Liu Bei seizes southern Jingzhou by guile, exposing the cracks in the alliance.
Dong Yuan sits in the commander's quarters, coolly moving his pieces and calculating the realm's every shift.
Everyone says Cao Wei's fortunes have run out.
Little do they know that with Huaqiao's arrival, the land will be reshaped!
Watch Dong Yuan, a statesman of unmatched wisdom, help Cao Mengde rise again, sweep across the realm, and reunite the empire!
