During the Republic of China, Ruan Tao, an embroiderer from Nanjing, accidentally obtained a peach blossom fan that contained a secret, and met Xu Jiangnan, an officer there. The two were involved in the anti-Japanese intelligence struggle, protecting their homeland and embroidery skills in the flames of war. From the Qinhuai River to the mountain city of Chongqing, they use needle and thread as their blades to convey information and uphold cultural heritage. After the war, the two rebuilt Jinyunxuan and passed down the art of embroidery from generation to generation. The work depicts love, faith and cultural mission in troubled times with delicate brushstrokes, presenting a soul-stirring picture of family and country.
