In 2017, Fatty Jiang joins the ranks of the countless food delivery riders in Shanghai. He gets lost in rainstorms, gets pushed around by customers, and has cried over late-delivery penalties. But he also meets three teammates who know how to find joy in hard times: the wily veteran Master Ma, Li Xiaohua, who’s always praying for good luck, and Li Zhao, who’s always a little hungry. Together, they deliver an order that requires a meow, buy lace lingerie for a rich lady, and slip extra tea eggs to an elderly person living alone. In the cracks of this city, they carve out their own paths with the wheels of their electric bikes, cursing life as they keep on living it.
