A haunted house, a contract, and a deadly curse spanning a century.
Down-on-his-luck reporter Zhou Qian unexpectedly inherits the old house his aunt left behind. He has no idea that the century-old home witnessed a blood sacrifice for a ghost marriage during the Republic of China era.
The sound of opera at midnight, bloody symbols in the mirror, copper coins appearing beneath the door... As one bizarre incident after another unfolds, he is forced to uncover the terrifying truth deliberately buried beneath the house:
- An evil foundation sacrifice formation sealed by seven bodies of children
- A paper bride's obsession, undiminished for a century
- A loved one borrowing yin years to prolong their life
- A blood sacrifice to a faceless stone Buddha that devours the souls of the living
When the song "Five Watches" rings out again at midnight, Zhou Qian discovers that he has long since been written into a death contract bound to a century-long cycle. He must either become the next sacrifice or bring this karmic cycle to an end with his own hands...
