In a remote corner of the Zixiao Continent lies an ordinary place called Qingyan Town, where a boy named Su Yu lives. Born with damaged spiritual meridians, Su Yu cannot absorb spiritual energy and cultivate like other people. In this world that reveres martial prowess and spiritual power, he is subjected to contempt and abuse. Yet deep in his eyes burns a streak of defiance and resentment, like a spark waiting to set the world ablaze.
One day, Su Yu goes to the woods outside town to gather herbs in exchange for a little food. Deep in the forest, he suddenly hears a strange rumbling, like a call from primordial times. Following the sound, he finds a cave glowing with a faint light. Runes shimmer across its walls, mysterious and unfathomable. At the end of the cave, a simple stone platform holds a jade pendant floating in the air, so black it seems capable of swallowing light. Chaotic currents swirl around it, as though it were connected to endless stretches of time and space. Drawn to it, Su Yu reaches out instinctively. In an instant, the pendant blazes with light, and a vast flood of information pours into his sea of consciousness.
