Landlord's Compound

This work mainly tells a story that took place in a village called Niuzhuang at the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China. It tells the story of the landlord Niu Shishi from his birth to the development of his power to the peak and finally his fall. He finally repented and made atonement for the sins he had committed through his own efforts. The story focuses on showing the dominance of landlords in rural areas from the late Qing Dynasty to the end of the Republic of China, especially the tragic situation of the working people under the crazy exploitation and oppression of landlords. After people overthrow the landlords, the landlords realize and regret the sins they have committed, and work hard to change themselves and regain the recognition of the people.
