The whole book consists of four main parts. The first part is the introduction, which mainly focuses on the concept, research content and tasks of neurotoxicology and its development history. The purpose is to give everyone a macroscopic and general understanding of neurotoxicology. The second and third parts are the general part. The second part focuses on some common issues in the field of neurotoxicology research, mainly involving the anatomical structure of the nervous system, toxic target cells (neurons, glial cells), the occurrence and aging of the nervous system, the barrier structure of the nervous system, neuronal synaptic transmission, and advanced functions of the brain related to neurotoxicology research. The third part mainly introduces neurotoxicology research methods, covering the internationally mature and mainstream electrophysiology, morphology, neurobehaviorology, neurochemistry, biochemistry and molecular biology, cell biology, imaging, bioinformatics and computational biology technologies. At the same time, the selection method of experimental animals in neurotoxicology research is also introduced. The fourth part is the monograph, which focuses on the toxicity manifestations, toxicity mechanisms, relevant health standards, and prevention and control measures of typical environmental neurotoxicants.
